Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel, brake disc, wheel speed sensor and the bracket that holds the brake hose to the knuckle. Disconnect the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle, separate the upper
Control Arm, compression rod and lower control arm from the steering knuckle. If you're working on an AWD model, remove the driveaxle from the hub splines as the knuckle is removed. Carefully inspect the steering knuckle for cracks, especially around the steering arm and hub and bearing mounting area. Inspect the balljoint and balljoint stud holes. If they're elongated, or if you find any cracks in the knuckle, replace the steering knuckle. Remove the hub and wheel bearing, the steering stop bracket and brake dust shield as necessary for replacement. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten all suspension fasteners to the torque. Tighten the wheel lug nuts to the torque. If you're working on an AWD model, tighten the driveaxle/hub nut to the torque.
