Remove the return spring. Remove the rear shoe hold-down retainer, spring, pin, and shoe. Remove the forward shoe hold-down retainer, spring, pin, and shoe. Thoroughly clean the backing plate and lubricate the brake shoe contact areas on the plate with high-temperature grease. Clean and lubricate the adjuster. Place the forward shoe in position and install the hold-down retainer, spring, and pin. Place the rear shoe in position and install the hold-down retainer, spring, and pin. Install the return spring. Install the adjuster. Install the adjuster spring. Make sure to follow the captions closely.
