- Q: How to remove and install a Clutch Slave Cylinder on Infiniti G35?A:Raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Unscrew the fluid hose fitting bolt. Note: There is a sealing washer on either side of the brake hose inlet fitting; be sure to replace these with new ones when connecting the hose. Have rags handy, as some fluid will be lost as the line is removed. CAUTION: Don't allow fluid to come into contact with the paint - it will damage the finish. Also have a plug ready and immediately plug the line to prevent leakage and fluid contamination. Unscrew the two clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts and detach the clutch slave cylinder. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the pushrod dust boot is in good condition and the pushrod is seated correctly in its pocket in the release lever. Tighten the clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts to the torque. Fill the clutch fluid reservoir with the recommended fluid. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system. Lower the vehicle and check for proper operation. For all other models, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the clip and disconnect the hydraulic line at the transmission. Have a small can and rags handy, as some fluid will be spilled the line is removed. Plug the line to prevent excessive fluid loss and contamination. Remove the transmission. On the outside of the transmission, remove the bolt securing the clutch slave cylinder hydraulic line. Remove the clip and disconnect the hydraulic line at the clutch slave cylinder. Remove the clutch slave cylinder mounting bolts. Remove the clutch slave cylinder. Install the clutch slave cylinder into the transmission. Tighten the bolts to the torque. Connect the hydraulic line at the clutch slave cylinder and install the clip. On the outside of the transmission, install the bolt securing the clutch slave cylinder hydraulic line. Install the transmission. Connect the hydraulic line fitting to the transmission and install the clip. Check the fluid level in the clutch fluid reservoir, adding brake fluid conforming to DOT 3 specifications until the level is correct. Bleed the system, then recheck the brake fluid level.
