However, if there is a major overhaul of the engine, then it is advisable to check and replace worn clutch components because they are relatively cheap as compared to reaching where they are. Assumptions are that the engine stays in place throughout this process. First, remove the transmission from the vehicle and support the engine during this process using an engine support fixture or hoist. The Release Bearing may be left attached to the transmission housing for now.
